Have you tried traditional browned sauerkraut? Forget the straight out of the bag stuff served with hotdogs. Browned Sauerkraut is sweet, sour, and savory. Take a 1lb bag of sauerkraut, drain and rinse and divide in half. Cook with half a chopped onion on medium heat. Sprinkle it with brown sugar and black pepper, add caraway or fennel seed to taste if desired. Remove and set on the side. Cook the second half in the same fashion and combine to heat. DIVINE.
